Bel Canto

About Bel Canto

Bel Canto is the primer division of the Casper Children’s Chorale.  This choir is for young singers in 2nd through 5th grade.  Bel Canto rehearses at City Park Church, 804 S. Wolcott, once weekly, Tuesdays from 4:10-5:25 p.m., and presents one major concert a semester.  They also sing smaller special local performances.

During COVID, Bel Canto is on hiatus for fall semester and hopes to convene rehearsals and performances in January, 2021.

Bel Canto is directed by elementary music specialist Terry Schreckengost assisted by music educator and vocalist Lisa Rich, and middle school guidance counselor and vocalist Erin Miech.  Bel Canto presents an opportunity for young musicians to develop their voices, working with solfege, rhythm and movement activities, and canons and two part octavos.

Membership fees for Bel Canto are $75 per semester.  Auditions for Bel Canto are held in conjunction with those for the Casper Children’s Chorale.  Normally these auditions (same as those for CCC) take place in the two weeks following their Mother’s Day Sunday Concert.  However, due to COVID, auditions this year are ongoing during fall semester.  Please visit “About” and “How to Join” on this site, and submit your audition at any time!  Mrs. Patton will contact you and set up a ZOOM!
